Surgery For Oshie
First off I want to send my best to all of those impacted by the tragic events in Boston on Monday. I personally had friends participating in the marathon along with knowing a number of hockey people who live in the area. Thankfully they are all safe. Our thoughts are with everyone who suffered a loss or injury.
Blues forward T.J. Oshie has missed the last eight games with an ankle injury and it appears he may not return as quickly as the team had hoped.
Oshie wasn’t on the ice Tuesday morning after skating the last several days in an effort to return from the injury.
No official word has come from the team but sources say a recent MRI showed a procedure would be required to clean up the injury. The original X-ray didn't reveal a fracture the MRI is now showing.
How long Oshie will be sidelined remains unclear as the Blues have just seven games remaining on the schedule.
Oshie last played March 28th against Los Angeles.
Jaskin to Make NHL Debut…
Rookie forward Dmitrij Jaskin will make his NHL debut tonight likely starting the game with Chris Porter and Adam Cracknell.
Jaskin, who scored 99 points in 51 games with Moncton in the QMJHL, has been practicing with the Blues the last several days.
Born in Russia, Jaskin’s immediate family lives in the Czech Republic, the country he’s represented numerous times internationally. He still has several family members including his grandparents living in Russia.
Jaskin, a bright well spoken individual, has watched nearly every Blues games this season on television. He skates with Vladimir Sobotka in the summer in his hometown of Slavia Praha. He got to know David Perron and Alex Pietrangelo last summer when he came to St. Louis to train.
The Blues aren’t inserting Jaskin into the lineup to evaluate him for the future. They’re hopeful he can help the team now as evident by him playing in arguably the biggest game of the season.
Expected Blues offensive lines vs. Vancouver…
