Purchase Agreement Signed
Multiple sources confirm Chicago Businessman Matt Hulsizer today officially signed a purchase agreement to buy the St. Louis Blues. The rumor of a signed purchase agreement has been ongoing but I'm told the documents were finally signed today.
Several steps will still need to be made before the sale actually closes. This is just the second step of a multi-step process.
Word is the announced number is likely to come in slightly below the recent reported $185 million number.
I'll have more on this soon.
More to come,

It just makes you wonder what trades might be coming. I'm hoping we keep Schwartz and Tarasenko as it stands inless the return is overwhelming like Mike Richards.
I'm tired of this team pulling the goaltender without position and lots of time on the clock. NOTE TO THE COACH DON'T PULL THE GOALIE BEFORE YOU CONTROL THE PUCK IN THEIR ZONE ON A DUMP IN. OTHERWISE YOUR TEAM IS GOING FORWARD WHILE PUCK IS COMING OUT THE OTHER WAY.
That said the Blues MUST win the battles on the side boards at the end of the game.
Team is tightening some things down so not a terrible loss.
Congrats to the Cardinals. It's nice to know we can win at something. flag this comment
And aside from that highlight reel goal, Stewie has been invisible for most of the young season. We need the Stewart from last year that was sniffing out pucks, the quiet areas, and pounding quality shots on goal. flag this comment
The power play is looking a LOT better. There is better movement and they are getting people in the high slot. That said, why is Backes taking a shot at the short side on a 5-3 and not only doing it but MISSING the shot and creating a clear??? That was terrible decision making pure and simple. There was some decent movement on the 5-3 and I give Calgary credit for playing in a strong formation on the 5-3, they barely moved. While we had SOME movement we need to have more movement in front of the goal on a 5-3 or hell at anytime than what we saw.
Stewart looked terrible last night. I did not like his effort pure and simple. He dogged it. Hey if in his contract year he wants to play like a lazy turd it'll be on him.
Elliot was not bad last night. We just couldn't finish with all those creations, all those times getting Kippersof to be out of position. We weren't tough enough there.
A lot to like in the loss. Cola and Stewart had bad games last night and Oshie canNOT allow a defender to sneak into the back of a play like that and find himself a step behind the play.

Two players have got to get it going and that's Stewart and Oshie. Oshie has to play all 200 feet of the ice. There were three plays he didn't make. It's going to happen to be sure but the one that cost us the one that is concerning is on the first goal where he was a half step behind the creeping Kostopalotofsylables.
I really liked the first period especially on the road. We took the crowd out of the game. We out played them.
One other thing I noticed was that the point men were disappearing from their corners when so much of our game is working it along the boards and back the point and going to the net.
I don't think that style is the best. A lot of times the Calgary wingers sat at the half boards trying to cut the pass off and we still tried to force it. You should know that every team will pick that up on their video scouting and work on some break aways with that type of game. We give up up too much offense when we are always choosing to go into the corners instead of to the front of the net. The fourth line is the best at executing this part of the game b/c that's a fourth line style. It's not a bad default but we have to become creative and try and open up the ice in front of the net.
Yet this did happen a few times and in none of them were we able to take advantage of an nearly empty net. For whatever reason Kipper plays his best games against the Blues.
Calgary has some dangerous offensive weapons and a goaltender that can be nearly impossible to beat on some nights but they don't have that good of a defense. They are not a better team than the Blues. Too much forcing a dump in or forcing a play into their zone. We need to learn how to regroup if we don't find an opening and then try to come back in. If you rely on the dump against a goaltender who can play the puck that well then you'll have issues possessing the puck.
The purchase agreement article was posted in the afternoon. Much has happened since then. flag this comment
BULL SHIT. That's what the officiating has been and the worse I have seen all year. Ryan Smyth can take his hand off of his stick grab a guy's shoulder in the offensive zone then wrap his arm over his shoulder and pull him away from the puck cause a turn over then fucking score without a penalty. Then when players turn away from hits it is called boarding. Bull shit.
High sticks are optional to call against American teams also apparently. But remember you idiotic Canadians most of the players are Canadian on American teams. If you don't believe me watch the WJC when Canada plays AMerica and what happens when America takes a lead.
This is retarded. The Blues have talent that is NONEXISTENT as well. Create and score.
How about a goalie who makes some tough saves every once in a while as well. It would be nice. Tired of watching losses an inconsistent efforts and the most retarded officiating system in all of professional sports. Terrible. Edmonton is not that good.
I figured Edmonton was a lot better than what the writers were saying in the preseason but having said that they lack depth and are an injury or two away from having problems. Also their D played a lot better than they are. But when you can cross check players down to the ice when they have an empty net and not call it anybody can become a great defender, hey that's how Jackman made a name for himself in the clutch and grab days. flag this comment
Defensively, Jackman needs to go. I could tolerate his lack of talent if he would at least make it difficult to stand in front of the net, but if he fails to even do that, what is he really bringing to the team? Petro and Shattenkirk aren't the most physical guys but at least they use their sticks to break up plays. The oilers have a bunch of no namers on D, yet they made it far more difficult to occupy the front of their net then the blues did. flag this comment
