NHLPA Investigating Nashville for Sending Out QO's Late
Hockey fans, especially those in Chicago, remember the Qualifying Offer fallout from a few summers ago.
A member of the Blackhawks front office apparently put the QO’s in the outgoing mail basket but did not take them personally and return with confirmation that they actually went out before the deadline.
We may have another issue on our hands as the NHLPA is currently investigating the Nashville Predators who may have made a mistake in regard to their QO’s being sent out late. We won’t speculate as to what exactly took place but hockey fans, especially those in Nashville, should say tuned.
Shea Weber by the way is not included here as the team has already filed for arbitration. The others including leading scorer Sergei Kostistisyn could possibly become free. The situation would likely become more like Chicago in that the team gives the players a little bump (more than they would have gotten) to keep them with Nashville. It may be grieved or take some time if they cannot settle.
It appears Nashville was possibly late sending out their qualifying offers. This is unlike Chicago who missed the deadline by days.
