Leafs Ink R.I.T. Standout Tyler Brenner
The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed R.I.T standout Tyler Brenner to a two year max entry level contract beginning next season.
Brenner considered five NHL offers including Anaheim and Boston to go along with Toronto who lands the 6'2, 190 pound power forward. The Ontario native gets $810,000 in salary, $90,000 in a signing bonus, plus regular bonuses. He'll make $67,500 in the AHL. He could only sign a two-year entry level deal since he's an 88 birth year.
This past season Brenner led R.I.T in goal scoring with 26 and finished with 41 points.
Brenner has signed an amateur tryout contract and will finish the season out in the AHL. He's currently with the Toronto Marlies and is expected to play tomorrow night against Grand Rapids.
